The creation of waste is the outcome of contemporary lifestyles and industrialization. Since effective waste management is a global concern, governments have taken various regulatory actions for waste management. The Electronic industry is one of the fastest emerging industries in the world. The growth in the use of electronics has led to an increase in the e-waste stream worldwide. E-waste is designated as waste comprising the parts and items of electronic and electrical equipment that have been discarded without being reused and includes a multitude of electronic devices, such as IT and telecommunications equipment, medical devices, medical waste, mobile phones, and computers. Although the government has taken various regulatory measures to reduce e-waste in India, lack of awareness among stakeholders and the public has become the major challenge to reducing and recycling e-waste. Hence, the current study addresses the regulatory system of the Basel Convention in India related to e-waste management.
